White december

This last week started quite slippery. The snow that fell on the weekend turned into ice and we had to be careful to not fall over. Monday morning I woke up a little bite late and when I opened my window I saw one of the teachers and some girls working hard to be balanced on the long way to the school. Now we spend five minutes more than usual to go to the school. But i cant wake up five minutes earlier..so we get there five minutes later.

On Wednesday the snow came againn. After school, me, André, Jonas, Stanley and Priestly went to Jessheim mall to shop. I bought a pair of boots even though i feel like an alien. Yeah, Im used to wear havaianas, nobody wear boots in the coast. And i didnt have a lot of choices...I knew I had to buy it (beacause of the snow) even knowing that I will use it for one month. I didnt want to spend my money for things I will just use for one month. So..I chose a not expensive one and not too UNwearable one. And guess what?? Im starting to like to wear it ¬¬.

We had beautiful days with snow and sun this week. It was clever to buy some boots cuz with a lot of snow, we started to play and slide downhill. Wednesday night we played for almost two hours. We had a lot of fun trying to go down with 2 or 3 people on the same sled, with our chest, back side, surfing etc..Obviously, next day our bodies were sore. But we dont care, we are like kids playing in the snow, dont matter if it hurts or not.  And nothing better than have a very hot cup of tea after playing in the snow.

Other nice momment we had, happened on this weekend. We went to the Oslo Gospel concert in Sandvika, close to Oslo. We arrived there late, so we just saw the last three songs haha. Next to the concert had a little christmas market with a lot of grandma´s stuff..we spend some hours there and we went back home. Not Hurdal! One of the women (Elizabeth) who does Applied Missiology at Gus, lent us her house. We had a looooot of fun this evening playing cards and miming and hanging out. At saturday we went to Oslo to see the Nobel peace price parade. Some of us bought a sort of candles, big candles, and we walked for an hour following the people until a stylish hotel where the winners of the peace price were.

Time to talk about some serious stuff! Sometimes we are used to have serious momments here. Two days of this week we did some researchs about the contries we are going to. And if you dont know, Junior (brazilian), Jonas (norwegian) and I are going to Israel and the crazy girls are going to Turkey. So, we had two days to study their culture, history, conflicts and religion. We are going to work as a part of our program in a day care center called Zaccheus during six weeks (january 6th - february 16th). We will do some pratical and social works (with children and youth) and also english, guitar and piano classes. We dont feel too reaady to go..actually I think we´ll never feel it..but our time is short and we still have to prepare some classes and get some materials. So, I´ll be very thankful if you pray for us about this time before we leave and our time there. May God use us as his tools to preach the gospel to that people and they can see through our lives His love for all of us.

Risør

Antes de tudo queria mandar um abraço pra família e amigos. Falar que estou muito bem aqui e sentindo saudades. Deus tem abençoado muito minha vida e é muito bom saber que eu tenho pessoas maravilhosas por trás disso tudo.

Last weekend Australia, Brasil and Norway were together inside a van driving to Risor. We left Gus on friday after middag (ooo midaaagyy) and we arrived in Risør around 2200. We were welcome with a very good pizza made for mamma Turill. Actually, if there is a place where I eat veryy good norwegian food is in Risør! Well, we were very tired, but we had time to laught with junior massaging himself (and dancing), to hang out and to see Pirates of the Caribbean.

On saturday I woke up with the girls watching One Tree Hill next to my room. So, I joined them and i saw the first episode of the first season. blah! We had a typical norwegian breakfast and then we went to town. After walking trough the comercial street and taking a thounsand photos we decided to go to a bakery to have a hot chocolate before our hands get frozen. And there, we saw the girl who works there throwing in the garbage a lot (a LOT) of food. We got some free food, but some days before we had some classes about poverty and it keeps in our minds.

Well, back to home, we had a lovely funny crazy Poker evening. I was the winnerr, but it doesn´t matter. What matter is how fun we had. It was Junior´s first time playing poker. Rach didnt care about her money..she bet everything..Yessie is always acting and laughing. Jonas wanted to play with real money. Jenny and I were competing haha. It was really fun. Then, we stop playing pokerr and we swop to other modalities (boxing, snooker and bycicling). On that time we were all tired, lying on the couch and watching 007. I didnt hear no one leaving the room and I slept there ( yeah, I prefer to sleep on the couch than share a bed with juniorr - nothing personal Jumba!)

Next day morning we had a very good devotion time led by mama Turill. She talked about Heart..and one verse that stuck in my mind is "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" Matthew 6: 19-21.

At evening we went to Free Church in Risør and they did a special service with Christmas Songs. Duet, choir, violin and piano, funny boy dancing and yeahh..It was really good. After that we drove back to Gus and we had a surprise..Hurdal was completely white. Finally is snowing here! Im very thankfull for having this time here at Gus and having special people by my side. Thanks God!
