This last week started quite slippery. The snow that fell on the weekend turned into ice and we had to be careful to not fall over. Monday morning I woke up a little bite late and when I opened my window I saw one of the teachers and some girls working hard to be balanced on the long way to the school. Now we spend five minutes more than usual to go to the school. But i cant wake up five minutes earlier..so we get there five minutes later. On Wednesday the snow came againn. After school, me, André, Jonas, Stanley and Priestly went to Jessheim mall to shop. I bought a pair of boots even though i feel like an alien. Yeah, Im used to wear havaianas, nobody wear boots in the coast. And i didnt have a lot of choices...I knew I had to buy it (beacause of the snow) even knowing that I will use it for one month. I didnt want to spend my money for things I will just use for one month. So..I chose a not expensive one and not too UNwearable one. And guess what?? Im starting to like to wear it ¬¬.
Other nice momment we had, happened on this weekend. We went to the Oslo Gospel concert in Sandvika, close to Oslo. We arrived there late, so we just saw the last three songs haha. Next to the concert had a little christmas market with a lot of grandma´s stuff..we spend some hours there and we went back home. Not Hurdal! One of the women (Elizabeth) who does Applied Missiology at Gus, lent us her house. We had a looooot of fun this evening playing cards and miming and hanging out. At saturday we went to Oslo to see the Nobel peace price parade. Some of us bought a sort of candles, big candles, and we walked for an hour following the people until a stylish hotel where the winners of the peace price were.
Time to talk about some serious stuff! Sometimes we are used to have serious momments here. Two days of this week we did some researchs about the contries we are going to. And if you dont know, Junior (brazilian), Jonas (norwegian) and I are going to Israel and the crazy girls are going to Turkey. So, we had two days to study their culture, history, conflicts and religion. We are going to work as a part of our program in a day care center called Zaccheus during six weeks (january 6th - february 16th). We will do some pratical and social works (with children and youth) and also english, guitar and piano classes. We dont feel too reaady to go..actually I think we´ll never feel it..but our time is short and we still have to prepare some classes and get some materials. So, I´ll be very thankful if you pray for us about this time before we leave and our time there. May God use us as his tools to preach the gospel to that people and they can see through our lives His love for all of us.
